Despite general caution in Dubai after its investment arm Dubai World announced plans to restructure US$26 billion (RM90 million) in debt, the 72-storey Rose Rayhaan by Rotana Hotels opened its doors to the public in mid-December, 2009.
Slender, elegant, and reaching 333m into the air, the world’s tallest single-use hotel is situated on Sheikh Zayed Road and is located close to the Dubai International Financial Centre and the World Trade Centre.
The hotel is also just five minutes away from the stunning Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping and entertainment centre and is surrounded by the local nightlife scene. Dubai Airport is 10 minutes away, while Media City and Internet City are 15 and 20 minutes away respectively.
With 481 luxuriously-furnished rooms, the alcohol-free hotel is built around the concept of building a new image of Arabia while respecting the beliefs and culture of their guests. The word “rayhaan” itself describes a fragrant plant mentioned in the sayings of prophets in the Holy Quran.
Each of the rooms, suites and penthouses come with its own kitchenette, high-speed Internet connection and an assortment of amenities and facilities. The hotel also has eight meeting rooms, a fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms.
Rotana Hotels presently manages 68 properties throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
