SINGAPORE: Genting Singapore plc, a unit of Genting Bhd will open the doors of Resorts World Sentosa, on Jan 20, 2010 with four of its hotels opening concurrently. Each hotel has its own distinct personality: The Festive Hotel, which has 390 rooms, is fun, vibrant and family-oriented. Every room comes with separate chambers for parents and loft beds for the children, with an extra sofa bed for added sleeping spaces. There are three colourfully-decorated outlets to dine at, namely Fiesta, the “dessert heaven” Boulangerie and Festive Lounge.
At the Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, guests are treated like rock stars. In the trendy and dramatic hotel, rooms are fitted with unique furnishings like “magic chandeliers” and the Hard Rock tattoo. However, kids are also welcomed at the edgy hotel, with an extra pullout bed for kids to bunk down in. There are also three F&B outlets, namely the Starz Restaurant, The Rock Bar, and Indian restaurant Rang Mahal.
Meanwhile, by-invitation-only guests at the Crockfords Tower can expect to lounge in the lap of luxury, with 24-hour butler service amidst its plush and lavish furnishings. The suites, dressed in dark wood and hues of rich red and gold has unique touches, like a mirror that doubles up as a TV screen, an en-suite pantry and a personal steam room. Guests can also enjoy a range of complimentary and private dining, gaming, and VIP facilities within the hotel tower as well as dine in the exclusive Dining Room or enjoy a drink and cigar in Crockfords Lounge.
Last but not least, the Hotel Michael, named after and designed by Michael Graves & Associates, pays tribute to Graves’ design genius. Hailed as a “collection” of the designer’s favourite things, the unique hotel carries his stamp on everything including the walls, murals and showers. Fine and contemporary dining is made available at its two restaurants, namely the Palio and Michael’s Lounge.
Two other hotels slated for opening after 2010, namely the Equarius Hotel and Spa Villas, will add another 500 rooms to Resorts World Sentosa. The integrated resort, touted as one of the world’s most extensive and expensive, cost around US$4.4 billion (RM14.68 billion) and was built in less than three years.
