LANGKAWI: The Datai resort on Langkawi, Kedah, recently reopened the hotel’s The Beach Club Bar after a one-month renovation period. Situated by the resort’s private beachfront and next to The Beach Club restaurant, the new Beach Club Bar offers guests a larger seating capacity and a more contemporary décor.

The Beach Club Bar has retained its original structure, including its traditional attap-style roof and wooden structure amongst the matured greenery that surrounds the bar.

The bar has also been upgraded with dark-slate counter-tops and state-of-the-art equipment. It is also furnished with elegant hand-woven rattan-like furniture.

Those who wish to relax by the sea and pool while having cocktails and snacks during the day can enjoy the comfortably padded benches that surround the bar area, while spa-goers can head to the award-winning Spa at The Datai.

Nestled inside a tropical rainforest with a secluded white sandy beach facing the calm Andaman Sea, the hotel is a nice hideaway for nature-lovers. Footpaths through the jungle connect the resort, its freestanding private villas, and two pools.

Opened in 1993 and designed by architect Kerry Hill and interior designers Didier Lafort and Jaya Ibrahim, it offers 54 deluxe rooms, 35 villas, five pool suites and the Datai suite.

The Datai also offers visitors an 18-hole championship Datai Bay Golf Course, situated just minutes away and has been beautifully landscaped to blend with nature.
